15. Patio Furniture Before and After

We’ve had this wicker set for about 20 years. But, it doesn’t suit the “Anthracite”, Ponderosa Green and Naturaltone Cedar colours of our exterior.

Occasionally, we find a short job to distract our dear WWOOFers from the pain and tedium of cutting/pulling/digging blackberry. (Lest you think that’s all they do, check out This Green House. They have been involved in some amazing transformations here, not all involving blackberries! We try to keep weed-pulling down to an average of one hour per day.)

So, three WWOOFers have used six cans of spray paint (not “green”, I know, but re-painting old furniture to make it usable rather than buying new is) to get into all the nooks and crannies of the wicker.

Then, I recovered the cushions in outdoor fabric to make them suit the patio better. Along with the Costa Rican chair hammock (accidentally the right colours) it’s becoming a very pleasant place to sit and read or chat. 1. Ma, that lower porch looks amazing! Very well done. Last I saw it, there was probably still shingles and paint stored there!
